The first DLC for 007 First Light is now available for free, fulfilling IO Interactive’s earlier promise to expand the TacSim mode with additional content. Titled 007 First Light Extended Operations, the update adds five distinct missions to the tactical simulation mode.
Four of these missions center around the Valhalla, the high-performance sports car driven once during the main campaign. According to the trailer, these operations resemble driving challenges where players must use the vehicle’s weapons and gadgets to complete timed objectives.
The DLC also introduces a New Game Plus mode, which includes a new difficulty setting called "00". This mode is described as significantly harder than the original Purist setting, featuring faster enemy reactions, tougher NPC variants, closer parry windows and kills achievable in just two hits.
Beyond the new missions and difficulty, IO Interactive has improved weapon animations and added the ability for enemies to push players off cliffs — mirroring a player ability from the base game. A photo mode, previously missing at launch, is now included as part of the update.
While some fans had hoped for a story expansion, the free nature of Extended Operations aims to sustain engagement until future official Bond adventures arrive. The update is available today across all supported platforms.
