In brief
  • Six new padel courts open in Noble’s Park this Saturday
  • Free round‑robin play and coaching available to all ages
  • Venue open 6 am–10 pm daily with floodlighting
  • Planning committee approved the project in April 2023

Six new padel courts will open in Noble’s Park this Saturday, welcoming players of all ages and skill levels to a free round‑robin session. The opening ceremony starts at 10 am, followed by a ribbon‑cutting at 10:30 am.

Coaches will circulate the six panoramic glass courts, offering tips and joining in for a game or two. The venue is open to everyone – from children to seniors, beginners to experienced players – and will be available from 6 am to 10 pm, seven days a week.

A kiosk on site will provide equipment hire, while floodlighting and low‑level path lighting allow play after dark. The courts were approved by the Isle of Man planning committee in April last year, following a proposal to convert four existing tennis courts into the new padel facility.

The project aims to establish a high‑class centre that is accessible to all ages, abilities and skill levels, and to nurture local talent. The planning committee chairman, Rob Callister, praised the initiative as a fresh addition to the island’s sporting landscape.

Padel, a rapidly growing racket sport that blends elements of tennis and squash, has seen a surge in popularity worldwide. The new courts in Noble’s Park will provide a venue for community play and support the development of the sport on the Isle of Man.
